Trusting the Winds of Change

Most of my friends know that I don’t like wind. There are a few reasons for my displeasure, but suffice to say, wind is not my favorite thing.

So what do you think happens every time I go for a walk? It could be the most still of days when I venture outside for my daily walk, I’ll be on my way for about 5 minutes, and then BOOM, the wind hits me with a rage. I’m not talking a gentle breeze, but almost a whirlwind!

I’ve come to realize, that the Lord is definitely communicating with me and teaching me through these winds.

You see, I am a person who has always sought peace and the calming comfort of routine. This need and quest for peace in my life stemmed from childhood, when I used to stick my head in a book at a very young age, and would create my own world. I would literally make my surroundings disappear, and would not even be aware of the craziness happening in the house around me.

This quest for peace directed my life, and I continually headed in the direction of my interpretation of “peace and quiet”. Many times, because of this internal guidance system that was on autopilot, I passed up countless opportunities for growth and even missed out on many joys because I was looking for a “safe” place to be. I had built myself into a cozy little box, and was not even aware that the real motive behind my self- imprisonment was fear. There, I said it…it was fear.

Back to the wind…or should I say the winds of change.

As my relationship with Jesus becomes more intimate, he is guiding and teaching me through his outpouring of grace and love. I am learning to TRUST God and his purpose for me. This trust cannot be forged when I shelter myself from all that I deem uncomfortable or a threat to my peaceful existence.

I am learning to open my heart and soul up to the Lord, and offer him all that I am. AS IS.  Although I am always striving to align myself closer to Jesus and his ways, I trust that he is working in me and through me, bringing me and those lives he touches through me, closer to him.

This involves great TRUST.

Trust, when winds come straight at me, and throw me off my usual course and way of thinking.

Trust, when I choose to not only listen to the whispers of the Spirit in my heart, but HEAR them and act on them.

Trust, that through the winds of change, I will be strengthened and ready for any storm that may come my way, or into the path of those around me.

As I sit, at this moment, I am feeling an extreme calmness of spirit. At the same time, I feel the intense energy and total love of Jesus through my entire being.

I am looking out the window, watching the trees and leaves that are momentarily motionless, as they patiently wait on the Lord to move them in his direction.

And I also wait on the Lord, for he is my all, and is my source of joy, happiness, and true peace.

I wait for the blessings that will be poured over all of his children, through the winds of change.

May God bless you and keep you in his care, as you wait on him and his direction for your life’s purpose.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.   Psalms 27:14

A New Chapter in Your Story

What in your life needs a change…a new beginning?  Think hard about this question.

You can’t fool God.  The Holy Spirit knows the innermost secrets of why you are the person you are, and where your struggles and pain originated from.  Much of the time, you are not even aware of the real roots of the fear, bitterness, anger, hurt, pain, shame, rebellion and anxiety that reside in your heart and hold you back from the joy that Jesus wishes to bestow on you.

In the story of your life, why do you choose to relive the same chapter, over and over?  What are you holding on to?  Has your reliving and hanging on to the pain and hurts in your life helped you in any way?  Do you feel free and joy-filled, or do you feel bound and miserable?

You can continue to lie to the world, and even lie to yourself, however your lies are ineffective with your Heavenly Father.  He knows the truth of your pain.  His love for YOU is so perfect and all consuming, that he sent his Son into our sinful world to take upon himself…all of your sins, all of your weaknesses, and all of your pain and suffering.  He experienced and felt all of that pain and suffering for you,  so you could be saved and have eternal life with him!

You may be asking, “Where has God been while I was hurt, abused, and shamed?”  Why wasn’t he there for me?

He was there all along and is still there….waiting…for you to say YES to him.

He is waiting for you to finally let go of the pain, which is so tightly clenched in your closed hands and heart.  He is waiting to hear you say,

“Jesus, I  trust in you.  I am sorry for all the ways I have offended you and closed my heart to you.  I ask that you take control of my life…my body, mind and soul.  I submit all that I am to You, for I am nothing on my own.  I have tried so many ways to heal myself, and I finally realize that your saving mercy and love is the only true way to happiness and joy.  Help me to submit all that I am to you, and give me the strength to forgive the ones in my life that have opened the doors to my bitterness and despair.  Help me to renounce the darkness and hardness of heart that permeates my soul. I pray that you replace the darkness with your pure and loving light, and infuse my heart with the intense love of your Sacred Heart.  Thank you, Jesus.  Thank you for never giving up on me.  Thank you for always loving me.”

I  assure you, that after you give yourself totally to the Lord, He will bless your life with a brand new chapter…leading to true joy and eternal life.   You will have a new direction, and your story of faith will be a blessing to many suffering souls.

Are you willing to take that step and let go?  Jesus is right there in your presence, waiting to hear your answer.

Life and Death – Part 4: Embracing Death

Thought provoking and very relevant to the culture of today…

The Dynamic Force

Dark side of Earth

Part 3 Yesterday

How are we getting on so far – I am sure we are not lost but this is a sizable task that we have taken on here – best put on your hard-hats and steel toe-cap boots for the rest of this series.

We asked:

If you divided this planet in two, took all the bad things that exist and that happen, all the evil and darkness, and put them on one side so that the other side was only good – which side would you want to live on?

So, hands up for the good side – I am sure that’s pretty much everyone. Let’s just see how many still have their hands up by the end of this page.

As we have said since that initial question, we are talking about splitting are actual hearts and minds here; the evil as well as the good…
